I’m Canadian.  I’m a serious homebody.  As a kid my family and I travelled the world, living in a new place every three years.  I hate travelling now.  I love to read.  I love coffee.  I love my wife and I love my daughter.  Sometimes in that order and sometimes not.

I’m a former pack-a-day smoker, who has been a non-smoker for three months (Feb 2014).  If you are a social smoker who can have one smoke and walk away from the rest of the pack, fuck off, I hate you (and you, the one who is having that one doughnut and walking away from the remaining dozen).

By training and education I am a Child and Youth Worker.  I’ve been doing it for about 18 years.  I love it and I’m good at it, most of the time.  I’m a husband and a father and I’m mostly pretty good at that too.  I am a photographer.  And maybe, now, I’m a blogger.  Every so often I feel a need to create and to share, so here we are.

I’m 40.  I’m heavy (both in weight and in “Whoa, that’s heavy dude.”

I am an incredibly optimistic pessimist.

  1. You had me at your second paragraph! And by the time I read your third I knew that I would like your blog. *giggles
Also battling the smokes, but I’m ON right now, trying to justify why I can’t give up just yet…. Will be 6th attempt all up.
I am happy to report I can now walk by a donut shop without licking the glass.

    1. Thank you so much for the comment. I freakin’ love comments. I’ll have to edit the about page though, cuz my bold claims of being smoke free have fallen a bit short lately. Very glad that the donut shop windows are no longer getting special attention.
